Stomachs of Hungry
Homes for Migrants
Eyes of Privileged
Hearts of governments, if they’ve any!
In lockdown we learnt to
Sanitise our hands!
But did we learn to
Cleanse our minds?
In Lockdown we learnt to
Mask our face to prevent ‘COVID’ spread!
But did we learn to
Control our tongue to stop hatred?
In Lockdown we
tried new recipes with our stocks!
But did we
Share meals with our needy folks?
In Lockdown we learnt to
Spend time with our family!
But did we learn to
Spare a thought in empathy?
In lockdown we earned
by working from home!
But did we lend a hand
to those working away from home?
In Lockdown we,
Closed the doors of Masjid!
But did we
Open our hearts for worship?
In Lockdown we
saw how our plans fail!
But did we
realize that Allah will always prevail?
