Very recently we have seen that an honorable minister of Uttar Pardesh government said that the majestic Taj Mahal is rightly kept out, he further said, “It should instead be replaced with the Guru Gorakhnath peeth“. The chapter doesn’t finish here yet. Days ago there was news in the media that the Mughalsarai Railway Junction (more than 150 years old) in Uttar Pardesh is to be renamed after the name of Bhartya Jana Sangh Leader Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
In an another report, Ahmedabad might soon be known as Karnavati, Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar and Aurangabad as Sambhaji Nagar, if the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has its way.
Now questions may arise that why shouts and slogans are made and why everyone was calm and silent when ‘Madras was renamed as Chennai’, ‘Bombay as Mumbai’ and ‘Calcutta as Kolkata’. Then, why is it being blamed for changing ‘Gurgaon as Gurugram’, ‘Mughalsarai Railway Junction and Agra Airport after the name of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’? The answer is quite simple that those changes did not take place in the name of any person or community belonging to particular religious community or group. Actually replacement of monuments, mausoleums, places, etc. built or established especially by the Muslim rulers has been in full swing since 2014 after a party getting mere 31% of vote share came into the government.
Bharat famously known as India and Hindustan is a country where a good number of people have been living amicably with their fellow countrymen across its breath and width. It’s the same old land that has been groomed and looted both by various foreign and inland rulers. Some came and robbed it away where as many inland rulers who (used to be native of this land as said by many historians) too didn’t leave any chance to tarnish the dignity of their motherland. But there were many rulers both foreigners and Indians, who have strained their every nerve to uphold the pride of this India. They cared for their people’s need, they lived for their kingdoms, they loved their job of kingships and served the people in every possible way. They used to minimize the hurdles of their people. The society was cared for.
But those days are gone when there used to be leaders with such enthusiasm and wills. Now we see only campaigns and hear promises during the election phase. As soon as the chunao (elections) ends reality gets revealed everywhere and the leaders are hardly seen among their people standing wih them in their needs and harships. It’s been 70 years of independence from the slavery of British rules but the common people especially the minorities hardly enjoy the taste of freedom. Everywhere, everytime, the common people have rarely been benefited. The country is being butchered by today’s political leaders.
Indians have thought of Incredible India under the leadership of recent honorable prime minister as he and his party had showed a number of rosy dreams to lull the voters by such promises which are hardly being worked upon. And it is obvious that there has hardly been any positive change under his leadership. In fact what we see is that farmers are dying, girls are raped, the rate of unemployment is increasing, GDP is going down, high level of starvation in the villages, coffin scames, increase in poverty level and what not has been going on in the country. But eyes of today’s ministers are rather not powered enough to observe such pathetic conditions of poor India which at once was said to be golden bird.
Our dear Bharat is in desperate need of true patriotic leaders who snatched this beautiful piece of land from the brutal Britishers caring a least for themselves. We need real heroes like our ancestors to rise from soul of India. We need both the revolutionaries and the moderates who can snatch this magnificent piece of land from greedy politicians. Here I remember the beautiful lines of Kavi Guru Rabindranath Tagore;
“Let My Country Awake”
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action –
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
