The movie M3gan (Model 3 Generation Android) deals with the inadequacies of modern parenting and the drawbacks of self-evaluation of Artificial Intelligence. The movie revolves around a terrifying robot doll who becomes self-aware and does a variety of nefarious things, providing a predictable plot but a roller coaster trip for the audience, marking a new stride in Sci-fi Horror by director Gerard Johnstone. The movie is also co-written and co-produced by James Wan, the director of The Conjuring Universe, which adds a startling element that is handled brilliantly.

At the beginning of the story, we see a young girl named Cady (violet McGraw) suffering from the grief and trauma of losing her parents in a horrific vehicle accident while on a skiing trip. This accident broke Cady mentally and emotionally, and her custody is handed over to her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams), who works as a roboticist in a competitive Market. Gemma lacks parental instincts due to her workaholic attitude and lacks the confidence to accommodate other humans. She has no idea what she can say to Cady to at least start a conversation.

This conundrum prompts Gemma to create an AI companion M3gan since she was already working on a project to deliver to the board members of the smart toys designing Company until Christmas. M3gan (voice given by Jenna Devis and appearance by Amie Donald) the robot doll was specifically designed to bond with the child owner and self-evolve to protect the child from all physical and emotional damage at all costs!

Gemma paired Cady with the blonde hair robot doll. Cady, who was sad and lonely, discovers in M3gan a calming companion and the solution to all her problems. Cady’s therapist points out that such attachment to the unhuman AI robot doll cannot be healthy for the child and can lead to serious difficulties. But things don’t go as planned by Gemma when the M3gan reveals the dark side of self-evolved AI. The lethal game begins with the image of a frightening doll increasing the death numbers, which will undoubtedly take everyone on a rollercoaster journey. The plot of the film is somewhat predictable, but the aspects such as the atmosphere of tension, humor, and startling strokes of fear will leave you on the edge of your seat.

The movie will leave you on a cliffhanger, implying that the finale is not complete and that there is still much more to come. The movie will make you think about the current parenting scenario of 21st-century children who are becoming tech addicts and lack basic skills. Children are surrounded by algorithms and androids, and there is concern about the extensive use of AI in conversations about children’s privacy and safety.

The movie is a reflection of today’s reality and the extensive use of artificial intelligence. It effectively underlines the current scenario of parenting and raises the ethical concern about the usage of Self Evolving and the Conscious Nature of AI. This movie is a must-see for anyone interested in the psychology of child development and the importance of the human touch. Humans require another human being for the exchange of emotions and feelings. Human education and parenting are indispensable.
