Nation’s hibernating Pharaoh

The heat of the ongoing Lok Sabha election is felt all around. Every eligible voter is gearing up to cast their votes with anxiety and hope, and this is where the fate of the nation would be sculpted. This largest democratic country is in great impasse with the most awaited event with every punching of the button in the EVM. The joy of choosing the right candidate of the constituency is overshadowed by the lobby and conspiracy of the like minded Fascist & Capitalist players. These forces have emerged so strong that it becomes next to impossible to break the spell unless “We the People” stand united in diversity to build this nation together.

Why is India unique? The answer dates back from the BCs to the colonial era, freedom struggle to post independence. One who understands these dynamics would definitely be judicious in casting their votes. The colonial rulers who were both capitalist and fascist had enslaved us in every way. The peasants were put to hardship without any reward to satisfy the greed of the Angrez. The wealth of the country was drained out ruining the economy of India. The regular acute famine had cost the lives of millions of Indians while the grand feast of Royal Britishers continued till the heart content. These atrocities sneaked-in slowly and cleverly not disturbing the comfort of the people. Later on when it mushroomed in length & breadth, the gravity of the problem was known and it was too late to mend the damages.

Unfortunately a puppet is being portrayed as a Hero, created by the fascist forces – anti-secular, anti-democratic. He is a chess pawn trained to be an authoritarian and a dictator controlled by the regressive communal ideology.

We are again to witness the sequel of the Indian history, the great political drama of the tainted politicians who now represent bygone bloodthirsty Britishers, who came to India to trade, administer and rule. The same capable politicians are obsessed with fascism & capitalism are in full swing to lure the Indians for the forthcoming election. The innocence and ignorance the people are turned in vote banks inflicting the differences on the basis of religion, caste, region, social and economic status.   The Divide & Rule Policy has now become the trump card of these politicians undermining the much needed focus on the development, I mean the Inclusion oriented policy is wiped out and what remains in the minds of the people is the hatred to other groups. The representation of the DEVELOPMENT MODEL of a state is a myth. It wouldn’t be wrong to say Catastrophic Genocide that paved way for the demonic ideology and the capitalist warehouse.

In a democratic country like India, an emerging economy, with a rich heritage and culture cannot take any chance to turn it into a laboratory of bloodshed. The whole world remembers the calamity of World Wars, and of lately India witnessed racial profiling in Gujarat where thousands of victims now lay abandoned deep inside the grave.

Unfortunately a puppet is being portrayed as a Hero, created by the fascist forces – anti-secular, anti-democratic. He is a chess pawn trained to be an authoritarian and a dictator controlled by the regressive communal ideology. Surprisingly there is a mixture of emotions, agony, revenge, wisdom among the greater sensible population. Pharaoh of Egypt was a powerful ruler who was worshiped as God not because of his divine qualities but the fear he instigated. We have a similar hibernating Pharaoh in India not as a person but as an ideology which with its demonic pawns and tentacles slowly sucking the Indian blood and preparing itself to rise. As the Nile was the fate of the Pharaoh, we can surely shoo this Pharaoh, before it destroys everything, into Ganges to be thrown out from our land.

Let’s get this straight: Humanity is not built on the foundation of Fascism and Capitalism; likewise Fascism and Capitalism can never be humane. We can narrow down our consensus that we can prosper India on the basis of Peace & Justice, not on the venomous ideology of Fascism and Capitalism as it brings nothing but destruction.

  1. Good writing, but it seems too late to be published online as the election have commenced. Moreover this website is not “Happening Website” in the student community, youare catching up too slow to be competitive.

    • Election has not yet finished it’s going on… We would love to get some suggestions and contributions from you to make it a happening website among the youth and students…

  2. There could be various strategies to adopt to make it happening.
We can have a quick research on marketting strategies of the most popular and successful websites and portals.
Perform a intellectual study of their content, presentation, topic’s relavance to the current times and their ways to connect to masses via social media…etc.
Also one of important thing i feel is how and what we publish articles not for the sake of publishing but what the reader wish to read. LIke any website or stuff becomes popular onlly when the reader feels its a value added stuff and would always wish to be connected with it.

Since you are into this occupation…could study more at national and international level and strategies.
    Wish all the best.

    • it is very difficult – most of the online readers especially youth wants to read what? Tell me honestly what attracts them? For us the challenge is – our themes and topics are dry and serious and on the other hand there are so many masalas (that’s what most wants to read) attracting everyone towards itself… in between that we are standing and trying to attract some readership… We don’t publish for the sake of publishing… look at the contents — they are very relevant… but can it pull the students to read… The real challenge here is to stick to our goal and be attractive to the youth … It’s very difficult… but we are trying…

      • I agree with you. I do appreciate your effort and also acknowledge the improving quality both in content, presentation and its relevance to times.
Since you asked someone for inputs i thought to pen down few…..and yeah i understand the challenge you have in wooing this generation of youth who hardly find interest in issues or themes concerning the society, politics, religion etc….compared to the more glamourous stuff they are interested to read.
But also many innovations and ideas cropped up in a desperate need to overcome any challenge….
Similarly, i feel we can invent new new ways….to create a great amount of value in it for the readers itself instead of playing a “defensive approach” that our topics and themes are dry and not masaladar.

I feel topics are never dry or masaladar….instead a person’s interest towards any specific themes are dry. Ex: For me other glamourous stuff could be very dry and these themes n articles could be more interesting and masaladar…..so its up to us how we overcome the dryness of reader not the dryness of articles or themes.

Some more tips could be that we can embed few short video clips in this articles…..so that once watching that short very meaningful video…he would automatically skim through the article.
That video could contain anything that adds VALUE to the reader…like tips on time managment, memory sharper, personality developemnt, interview tips.
We can also have some flash adds directing them to very useful information which would help them in their career or studies….
I know i may sound a bit of idealistic and unpragmatic, but unless we start thinking weirdly and out of box…we may not cross the bars…

I really appreciate the team’s effort in improving this website, like you have also launched android application of companion and rafeeq manzil. This all is really appreciable.

  3. to assess your constituency condidate’s background, kindly dial 08866288662, its a toll free number, and by entering the postal code of your area all the details of the candidate will be sent to you by sms.
    Its a great initiative.
What I feel sad is it address to those who are politically and technologically sound. Still there are lakhs of indians who are ignorants and are naive to make use of mobile technology.

    • Agree completely with you friend Arjun….
It pain so much that how the masses are being driven ignorantly by the propoganda machine and ads and they hardly use their intellect to judge and decide ……..niether do they introspect who are being fooled at end of the day…:(

    • arjun… plz give us a short write up on this so that we can post it as a content and publicize it thru whatever means we have…

  4. Among my friend circles, they like the content and they wish to write. But I sense that it appears more of muslim writers than the general mass. Though I am not a good writer but do appreciate excellent works. Companion is good but got to outreach the student mass. Perhaps some students forum and students associations can influence the mileage.
    -Arjun

    • yes we have many Muslim writers here … but think about this… Would you have asked this question if there had been predominantly Hindu writers or Christian writers? and if you had been a Muslim… will you ask the same question from India Today? Frontline? kafila? Youth ki Awaaz? and won’t write…. I don’t understand why that question comes only when we have a website with predominantly Muslim writers… Ok for clarification I’ll tell you that the way we started we got many Muslim writers through our network and friend circle… but we want to grow into a very plural and diverse platform… SO you can tell all your friends that anyone from any religion, ideology is welcome to write for us as we want to grow really into an alternative voice for youth and students with a diversity which is the pride of India…its legacy and heritage…

    • Does the name of a Writer matter when you read an Article? If that was the case then there would be no Muslim reader of mainstream news media, and similarly the other way for the portals run by Muslim management. The content should be more important than who has said it. This should be applicable to all irrespective of what religious or any particular attachment/inclinations one could have. This should in reality complete the ‘Freedom of Thought’. ‘Freedom of thought’ should not only be conceived as what you say but also what/How you hear.

  5. To be honest many articles written here many muslim writers are really great, original and expressive. Especially I like the section of Deliberation, Education and Expression. Happy to know that there exists the pool of talents among the muslim community. India did have great muslim personalities like Maulana Azad, Dr APJ Kalam, and who can deny the beauty of India as described by Mr Iqbal in his “Saare Jahan Se Achcha”.
India can be prosperous only when every section of the strata converge into unity. And Muslim do have the predominant role. I do have great number of good muslim friends and neighbors who are good in nature, but I am saddened with the fact that they live in the comfort level of the masjid and don’t really participate in the overall welfare of the nation. This can be changed only when the current students of muslim community realizes this greater responsibility.
Perhaps your religion haven’t inspired you OR may be your religious leaders like Mullahs and Imams have misguided you in the name of religion.
Prophet Mohammed was a great man, but his identity and teachings have been tarnished by greater muslim community.
I have been to USA and have seen the muslims over there, and they are very much capable in every venture.(ofcourse they are the migrants from India). I should conclude without doubt that India is blessed with Cosmic of talents and Companion team should take some proactive measures and strategies to empowers muslims with the larger roles and responsibilities rather than confining to Mosque and Friday prayers.
Wishing the team best of luck,
    -Arjun

    • To quote your comment
“India can be prosperous only when every section of the strata converge into unity.
Prophet Mohammed was a great man, but his identity and teachings have been tarnished by greater muslim community.”

It is important to see things in perspective and subjectively. The allegations that the ‘Muslim community has not contributed in the nation building’ is as objective a statement as saying only ‘a particular religion is true and Right’. And as far as the self centered service of Muslim community is concerned this also needs to be understood subjectively. Please consider the below points
      1. It is a natural inclination of an individual to give importance in the following order. Self, Family, Friends, Community, Neighborhood, Town, City, State/Province, Nation, Race, Continent and then maybe world and Humanity in general. Do anybody disagree? If yes, Please present the case.
      2. Self centered service of community is not only true with only Muslims but with all people in General. Don’t people belong to a particular caste group around? People subscribing to common thoughts and philosophies group around? This itself is a natural phenomenon and should not be seen as a negative trend. This grouping of people becomes problematic when it is causing harm to the system and people at large.
      3. Welfare of self and welfare of nation is related to each other. These are not 2 distinct things. An effort to do good towards self, family, community…. etc is actually an effort to do good towards the nation and the overall humanity. Welfare of the nation is in the Welfare of the individuals of the nation. So people serving individual needs and community needs are also serving the national needs.
      4. All the problems associated with the Muslim community also have the same 2 reasons that exist with any people facing challenges. These problems are internal and external. The religion did not inspire the Muslim community is again an over exaggerated statement. If it was not religion why would you quote those names in your comment?
The internal problems could be many, one of them could be the sadness/mayusi with in the Muslim community about its state of affairs, to add to it the religious leaders did not inspire them as they should have (could have they possibly. It’s a topic in itself to discuss)
The external problems could be as many as the internal ones. The external stake holders neither tried to understand the problem nor address if they understood it. Moreover a systematic alienation of the community is in place to tarnish its image and portray them as outsiders.

There is a problem when we try to give nation more important than religion and vice verse. People fail to realize these are 2 different things and they have and will exist in complete harmony with each other. (That’s the Idea of India. An Idea of Unity in Diversity) Religion and Nation both are by chance and choice. In the global world the idea of perverted nationalism is in itself questionable. No nation in the World can exist without any relations to another Nations. Nationalism has given nations identity but perverted Nationalism has given World War-I.

  6. We had enough of discussion in this section of the website. I sense the greater need of leading as a mentor to drive the mass towards inclusive development, and that can happen only when its expresses in a more lucid and systematic manner( not merely in a form of verbal confrontation rather a constructive progress. Personally you dont have to feel offended or hurt with the situation of the minority students.)
There also exists other section of minorities who isn’t yet in the limelight. You got to address them too. It would rather be stupidity to follow the Orthodox rule of “It is a natural inclination of an individual to give importance in the following order. Self, Family, Friends, Community, Neighborhood, Town, City, State/Province, Nation, Race, Continent and then maybe world and Humanity in general”. So please think about the situation and the possible solution accommodating every section of the society.
Just dont remain confined to pockets of the muslim community, if so it would be the situation of a FROG IN A WELL. Grow up

  7. Agree on “So please think about the situation and the possible solution accommodating every section of the society.” otherwise No hard feelings. No personal attacks. It’s an open forum for discussion. so let’s discuss following the etiquette of discussion. But what about the psyche of Nation before religion and vice verse. Is that not problematic?

  8. Hi there! Thiss post couldn’t be written much better! Looking at this arrticle reminds me of my previous roommate!
