Yasin SK, a resident of Murshidabad, has written a letter to the President of India asking him to grant permission to commit suicide. He has been suffering from cancer for a long time. He could not make any arrangements for treatment even after going door to door. Finally, a helpless old man wrote a letter to President Ramnath Kovind asking for permission to commit suicide.
In the letter (attached below) he said “ I am suffering from a deadly disease called lung cancer. I’m a poor man. There are six members in the family including four children”. The family tried their best to treat him. He was admitted, as the letter says, at two hospitals. Nonetheless, his disease condition kept growing unchecked.
“I am the only earner in my family. This situation of mine has pushed me towards loneliness and despair. I can’t think what to do. I have decided to be no more in this world”, he added.
