In dowry market no one is separate,

Social evil turns into “social necessity”
It’s a savvy deal and basic economy, why do you worry?

Transfer of illegal assets, of course not a discreet affair
It’s money, honey! Flashy and full in your face,

A well educated product cashes in for a good hike in the dowry.
A well educated women will have odds stacking steeply against her and her family,

Turning women into bargaining chips
A marriage propped up on promises and gifts,

As the price tags for the groom is getting bigger, bolder and gaudier
So does the “stove deaths” abetted suicides and torture,

Let us come forward to stop this drudgery
Let us say ‘no’ to dowry,
-Let us all pledge Ya!
So that there will be no other Ayesha.
