Ashhab Khan is poetry lover. He writes poems to express his concerns and feelings. Below are three poems written by him. The first poem is written from the perspective of a friend who lost his friendship due to fight and remembers the old happy days with his friend and compares to his current situation in which he is broken and alone. A second poem is written for my Aunt who died due to cancer on 28th Jan, 2019. This is how a person feels when someone close to their heart departs from this world. This grief dilutes over time but in starting it hurts very much. I hope people can relate to this. The third poem is written from the view of a caring friend to show that he will always be supporting his friend in his time of grief and unhappiness. That he will be the supporting backbone for him.

Broken People

Someday we will be gone,

To a place where we belong,

No more seeing each other,

As far away our souls wither,

We will never be together,

And will never find an answer,

Sometimes we will feel,

How things once used to be,

When we sat under the tree,

Now it will never be better,

As things never stay forever,

We are broken people,

With broken feelings,

Carrying our broken hearts,

Under a broken ceiling,

Feeling numb but we are bleeding,

We weep in silence,

Can’t talk Can’t laugh again,

We are drowning,

Into the ocean of our tears,

No one is coming to save us,

Cause we are the one to save our soul.

HARDEST GOODBYE

Its hard to look back,

To the memories inside of me,

Now that you’re gone,

Your page from my story is torn,

All I can do is mourn,

It looks hard to carry on,

My heart inside has started to break,

This has made my soul to shake,

I try to, but a smile now is hard to make,

I don’t know how long I will grieve,

I didn’t know how onerous a loss love will be,

It hurts and it stings,

But they say it’s a temporary thing,

I can see everything is changing,

And it’s making me cry,

And maybe it will all make sense someday,

When this growing twinge will say ‘GOODBYE’.

BACKBONE

When you smile

I can see the pain in your eyes,

You try to fight

With the depression drowning you down,

You say they leave

But believe me I’ll always be by your side,

I see you sad

And I wish that all your pain comes to me,

Don’t be afraid

I know it’s dark and the light has faded,

Hold my hand

And I’ll stay by you as we get through,

I told you then

And I am telling you now,

I will never let anything happen to you,

And I will never let go of you.
