The newly elected president of SIO of India for the term 2021-22 is Mr. Mohammed Salman Ahmed. A native of Maharashtra, he holds masters in Engineering. Mr. Salman had been a forefront leader in anti-CAA movement. Because of this, he was even dragged into media trial for his allegedly “provocative statement”.
SIO is a national students’ organisation spread across the length and breadth of the country, and visible in prominent campuses of India like JNU, HCU, Jamia, AMU, apart from state universities. SIO is primarily endeavored to students’ and education centric issues and challenges. SIO believes that the real function of education should be to impart genuine knowledge about life, existence and future. A real student is therefore one seeking for the realities about life and universe.
For the new term 2021-22, the General Secretary is Mr. Syed Ahmed Muzakkir, who was previously associated with Centre for Research & Training as its director. Mr. Muzakkir holds a masters in Economics from University of Malasiya.
The national secretaries, which overlook different organisational domains such as campus affairs, education, madrasa taleem, consolidation programme, are Fawaz Shaeehn, Nihal Kidiyoor, Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Tahoor Anwar, Ramess EK, Musab Qazi, and Abdul Hafeez.
In its organisational structure, Central Advisory Council is the apex body which frames policies and programmes for any biennial session. For the term 2021-22, the members of CAC are Amjad Ali(Kerala), Dr. Talha Faiyazzuddin (Telangana), Abdullah Azzam (Bihar), Usama Hameed (AMU), Zulqarnain Haider (Delhi), Salman Khan (South Maharashtra), Musaddiq Mubeen (Rajasthan), Dr. Luqman Ahmed (Telangana), Osama Akram (Telangana), Shujauddin Fahad (North Maharshtra), Abdul Quddus Suhaib (Karnataka), Ehtesamul Abrar (Jharkhand) and Muhammad Saeed TK (Kerala), apart from national secretaries and general secretary.
