Deliverance of Media and Journalist

Recent attacks on journalists in India and abroad have narrowed down attention of mass from level of surprise to leisure. Not to forget that Media now stands more powerful than democracy and religion owing to its continuous influence it carries every day. One such thematic incident “Vyapam Scam” has rocked the nation, leaving behind the large section of democratic Indian society insensitive, and the government at the centre being silent about it. This sabotages the republican nation into autocratic slaughter house.

A tight-lipped dirty scam dates back from early 1990s in Madhya Pradesh where the state examination board sought corruption over sheer merit of candidates. There was absolutely no element of shame, fear or accountability in carrying out this precise art of corruption. Not to forget that there were many great gamblers in powers from state ministers, bureaucrats & business tycoons functioning under smart middle-man. Ever since this infamous incident took place leaving behind many people dead mysteriously, there is now a greater need to moot on this entire event that has been affecting the democratic lives of many people. The question to raise here is, “Who fodders the corruption? What benefits do they garner in both short term and long term corruption?”

Majority in India, who are poor, under-educated, underprivileged castes and religious minorities face severe setbacks, unable to take any further blow on them.

Not being prejudiced and judgemental about, the great Indian corruption have always helped India’s Right-wing group in amassing wealth and power to carry out their daunting agenda. Majority in India, who are poor, under-educated, underprivileged castes and religious minorities face severe setbacks, unable to take any further blow on them. These defenceless people’s efforts to enter in mainstream society through education diminish and remain a distant reality. Furthermore, the commoners who tire themselves to win their daily bread and basic needs find themselves in sink-sand of corruption.

Under UN Millennium Development Goals 2015(MDGs), one such goal is to achieve Universal Primary Education, what it fails to mention is “CORRUTION FREE”. Agencies at both national and international do formulate many policies to develop the countries in many aspects, all this is halted due to poor political will, and aggressive corruption driven by fascist ideologies in India. The very purpose of education is lost, leading to many “still born” walking out of campuses. The students who witness many forms of corruption end up internalising it. It would be paradox for the country to expect its citizens to be loyal in their daily life, while the government indulges in mass corruption. No level of eloquent speech delivered by the honourable Prime Minister will save the nation. What we expect here is speedy strict action against those corrupts, and reassurance of our faith in democracy and judiciary before it turns impotent.freedom-press1

While media should continue to report every discrepancy in nation fearlessly, the government should safeguard their journalistic interest. Education is no different from any worship, it deserves every measure to sanctify it and protect it from the meanest level of any ideological predators. We all need to stand united to save both Media and Education.
