The Companion announces the launch of a new permanent column, ‘Short Stories.’ This initiative stands as a poignant tribute to Refaat Alareer, a luminary who illuminated the world with his storytelling prowess and profound remembrance.
It also serves as a solemn homage to the courageous Palestinian press members who bravely shared their stories with the world, even at the cost of their lives. It honors the Palestinian mothers who, while cradling their children in their arms, imparted tales of hope and resilience, their voices now silenced by fate. It acknowledges the Palestinian fathers who, burdened with the weight of untold stories, yearn to pass on their wisdom to their children. And it pays respects to the Palestinian children whose stories were abruptly cut short, their voices forever lost to us.
In launching ‘Short Stories,’ The Companion invites stories, of struggle and resistance, of resilience in the face of oppression, social injustice, discrimination, and hatred.
