Beaten up for not saying Bharat Mata ki Jai

The brigades of nationalism have done something amiss again, and this time it is neither JNU nor HCU. It is a lesser known campus, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi. At the time of admissions going around in all DU colleges after the cut-offs, two student organisations ABVP and AISA are having scuffles over the same-old cranky issue of shouting Bharat Mata ki Jay. ABVP, the saviour of nationalism, has beaten up an AISA cadre Abhinav Kumar when he refused to say Bharat Mata ki Jay. He got injuries in his left ear. Rajat Chawdhury an ABVP member started abusing him for not saying the ‘nationalistic’ slogan. Reports from the campus say that BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s son Himanshu Bidhuri is also involved in the attack. However Ramesh Bidhuri is denying any such involvement and saying that it is the dirty ploy of AISA to drag my son into mess. A day after the incident, AISA and CSYY held a protest outside Delhi Police headquarters, demanding the registration of an FIR against the alleged attackers. Vice President AISA Sunny Kumar is reported to have said that when his representatives went to meet the police to file an FIR, he denied and said FIR will be lodged only after investigation by the doctors. FIR is the right of the victim, said Sunny Kumar.
